Terms of Use
Last updated: 20 October 2026
These terms apply to the website cookforme.org and to all cooking services booked with CookForMe. CookForMe is a brand of Addy Spot UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Brüsseler Straße 8, 13353 Berlin, Germany, [email protected] ("we", "us"). Our full company details are in the Impressum.
1. The website and the request form
1.1 Using the website and sending the request form is free.
1.2 Sending the form is a request for a free, non-binding menu proposal. It is not an order and does not create a contract. You are under no obligation to book.
2. How a booking works
2.1 After your request, we send you a personalised menu proposal on WhatsApp. You can approve it or ask for changes at no extra cost.
2.2 When you have approved the menu, chosen a package and a cooking date, and we have confirmed the booking in text form (email or WhatsApp), a contract between you and us comes into existence. You accepted these terms when you sent the request form.
2.3 Contract language is English. We store the contract text (these terms and your booking confirmation). You can download these terms from this page at any time.
3. Our services
3.1 Depending on the package you book, our service includes:
- planning the menu;
- the shopping list;
- if you choose, arranging the grocery delivery for you (you pay the shop directly);
- one cooking session in your kitchen on the agreed date (usually 4–6 hours; the 120-portion package is cooked in two sessions);
- portioning and labelling the food into your fridge and freezer;
- cleaning the kitchen areas and equipment used.
3.2 The cooking is done by a qualified professional chef from our network. Every chef has a health certificate under § 43 IfSG (Gesundheitszeugnis) and hygiene training. We remain your contracting party and are responsible for the chef's work as for our own. You can ask for a different chef at any time without giving a reason, and we will find another chef from our network.
3.3 Portion numbers are approximate. Portion sizes depend on the menu and your family's needs, which we agree with you in the menu.
4. What we need from you
4.1 Complete and correct information about all allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements in your household. Tell us about any change before the cooking date. Section 7 explains why this matters.
4.2 Access to your kitchen at the agreed time, with:
- a working stove and oven;
- running water;
- enough space in the fridge and freezer;
- the containers agreed in the booking.
4.3 If the chef can't start because of something on your side (no access, kitchen not usable), section 6.3 applies.
5. Prices, groceries and payment
5.1 Our prices are listed on the website. They are final prices and include VAT.
5.2 Groceries are not included in the package price. You either buy them yourself following our shopping list, or we arrange a grocery delivery to your home after you have approved the list. You pay for the groceries directly to the shop or delivery service.
5.3 Payment is by bank transfer to the account on our invoice.
- First booking: you receive the invoice after the cooking session. It is payable within 7 days of receipt.
- Repeat bookings: you pay when we agree the cooking date, before the session.
6. Rescheduling and cancellation
6.1 Cancellations and changes need text form. Email to [email protected] is best; a letter or a WhatsApp message to us also counts.
6.2 You can reschedule or cancel a booked session free of charge up to 48 hours before the agreed start.
6.3 Groceries are ordered 1–2 days before the session and the chef's day is reserved, so a later cancellation causes us costs. If you cancel later than 48 hours before the start, or the session can't take place for reasons on your side (section 4.3), we charge 50% of the package price for that session. You may prove that we suffered no loss or a much lower loss; in that case you pay only that amount. Groceries you ordered or received stay yours.
6.4 If we have to cancel a session (for example because the chef is ill), we offer you a new date at the earliest possible time. If you don't want a new date, we refund everything you already paid for that session.
6.5 Repeat bookings are separate bookings. There is no subscription and no minimum term. You can stop booking at any time.
7. Allergies and food safety
7.1 We plan the menu and cook based on the information you give us (section 4.1). We check the allergen information on the grocery labels against your list.
7.2 Groceries can contain traces of allergens that the manufacturer declares ("may contain traces of…"). Your kitchen may also contain allergens from earlier use. We can't rule these out completely. If anyone in your household has a severe allergy, tell us before the menu is planned so we can agree on extra precautions with you.
7.3 The finished food is labelled with the dish and the cooking date. After the session, store it as labelled: fridge portions within the time shown, freezer portions frozen until use, and reheat food thoroughly. We are not responsible for food stored or reheated differently.
8. Liability
8.1 We are liable without limitation for:
- intent and gross negligence;
- injury to life, body or health;
- under the Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz);
- where we have given a guarantee.
8.2 For slight negligence, we are liable only if we breach an essential contractual obligation: one that makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely. In that case, our liability is limited to the typical damage foreseeable when the contract was made.
8.3 These rules also apply to the chefs and other people we work with.
9. No right of withdrawal
9.1 You have no statutory right of withdrawal for bookings with us. Under § 312g(2) No. 9 BGB, there is no right of withdrawal for catering services (Lieferung von Speisen und Getränken) when the contract sets a specific date for the service. Every booking with us sets a cooking date, and the chef's day is reserved for your household.
9.2 You can still reschedule or cancel a booking under section 6.
10. Data protection
How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
11. Final provisions
11.1 German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law doesn't take away the protection of mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
11.2 We are not willing or obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
11.3 If any provision of these terms is invalid, the rest of the terms remain valid.
